Summary
Assist with the Southwest Region of Westcor’s operations. This assistance will include, but not be limited to, helping agency managers with:
Essential Functions:
Underwriting
- Provide underwriting support and answer question presented by agents either directly or through agency managers; provide guidelines, memos, and other direction regarding significant issues or changes in state specific requirements or the industry, and assist with claims as requested;
- Assist with rates and forms filings for respective states, monitor and report on regulatory issues, ensure compliance by Westcor and its agents with state and national regulations.
- Assist with processing insurance authorizations to determine all requirements have been met, review the commitment or preliminary report and authorization request and make recommendations regarding approval, assist with and make recommendations concerning the revisions of the agency agreement or any addendums to agency agreements;
Sales Support
- Travel with agency managers to visit agents and help to determine needs of agents;
- Present various and timely training seminars to agents relating to local and national real estate and title insurance issues;
- Participate in the various state land title associations as necessary;
- Work on own Agent prospects in all states
Assist with Corporate operations as follows:
- Assist with rates and forms filings, monitor and report on regulatory issues, ensure compliance with state insurance statutes and regulations; monitor legislative and regulatory actions for changes affecting title insurance companies;
- Assist with reinsurance treaties and contracts; assist with facultative re-insurance issues as needed;
- Assist with revision of agency agreements as needed;
- Assist claims counsel as needed;
- Participate in CLTA, LTAA, NLTA and ALTA as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- 5-7 years title underwriting experience.
- Must be familiar with real estate law.
- Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title and settlement process.
- General knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services.
- General understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for the issuance of title insurance policies.
- Ability to collaborate and act decisively.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and timely follow up.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Requires abstract thinking and creative solutions.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Salary Range: $90K - $112K
