Who are we?

City of Paws Pet Care is a pet retail store & community resource center located in Manayunk, Philadelphia. We are seeking responsible, dedicated pet lovers to join our team! If you're an animal lover and love working in a fast-paced, team-orientated retail environment, this job is meant for you!

Our store is located at 4167 Main St, in the bustling Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia.

What is the employment opportunity?

We are seeking a Store Associate to join our team! This role includes the following responsibilities:

• Assisting customers and their pets in our store
• Being knowledgeable on the products we carry
• Making recommendations based on pet's needs
• Fitting harnesses on dogs in the store
• Managing inventory and shelving products
• Cleaning and maintaining store
• Opening and/or closing the store each shift
• Assisting with additional projects on an as-needed basis

We are seeking candidates with open availability, willing to work weekdays as well as at least one weekend day a week. Weekend availability is required. Hours will range between 15-25 a week, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts as your availability allows. As a growing company, there's TONS of room to grow and advance into a management position.

• Exceptional communication skills - must communicate effectively with management and customers
• Experience in retail, especially pet retail, is preferred but not required
• Professional and punctual
• Has a flexible schedule
• Has the ability to work independently and manage time wisely
• Be willing to foster long-term relationships with customers and their pets

Compensation & Benefits

Our associate roles are hourly positions, and compensation rates vary based on experience and job duties. This is a W2 position - we'll provide ongoing training and support from our dedicated team of pet professionals!

What are the job requirements?

• Be consistently available per the job description above
• Have reliable transportation to get to/from work
• Be 21 years of age or older
• Own a smartphone with internet access
• Must agree to a full criminal background check
• Be willing to work evenings, weekends and some holidays
• Be able to carry out all of the job tasks listed in the job description
• Must adhere to all operational and safety standards outlined in the employee handbook
