About the Role

The Company is seeking an Interim Head of Policy and Public Affairs to lead the delivery of its policy and advocacy work, with a focus on advancing and defending LGBTQ+ rights. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Policy and Public Affairs team, developing and executing strategies to achieve the organization's vision. This role requires a professional with demonstrable national-level experience in a relevant sector, a proven track record in delivering impactful, public-facing campaigns, and a strong understanding of the political landscape, particularly within Westminster. The Interim Head of Policy & Public Affairs will also be accountable for building and maintaining key government and political relationships, contributing to effective policy positions, and ensuring that the organization's work is inclusive and representative of all communities, with a particular focus on trans and BAME communities. Applicants for this senior position should be adept at supporting and developing teams, and must embody the values and standards of the organization. While direct sector experience is not mandatory, a genuine interest in or professional understanding of LGBTQ+ rights, and the associated policy and public affairs landscape, is essential. The role is pivotal in a critical stage of the organization's evolution, and the successful candidate will be expected to divide their time between the organization's headquarters, remote work, and a regular presence in and around Westminster. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact, both nationally and internationally, in an environment where the work is closely watched and politically significant.
