We have an exciting opportunity in our Central Pet Distribution business unit for a Part-time or Full-time Human Resources Coordinator at our Milwaukee, WI site. The Human Resource Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and successful onboarding process for new team members. You will play a key role in keeping our recruitment process running seamlessly, maintain employee records, and be a point of contact for employee and manager support. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with people, is organized, can multitask, and is computer efficient.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Onboarding Team Members :
- Responsible for drafting clear and engaging job descriptions.
- Research and identify new job boards, networks, and platforms to expand recruitment reach.
- Revamp and update recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes and materials as needed.
- Initiate a written job offer letter, background check and coordinate the onboarding process using our ATS and HRIS.
- Coordinate and deliver new hire inductions to ensure an engaging introduction to the company.
- Process human resource documentation, including I-9 compliance and employee records.
Employee Relations - Respond to routine questions and inquiries that require knowledge of departmental procedures and familiarity with operations and programs within human resources. This includes HRIS password resets.
- Provide necessary resources to empower employees with the knowledge and materials needed through COE for training, benefits, and leave.
- Assist with addressing routine workplace concerns.
- Coordinate and support employee engagement efforts and events.
- Initiate and track employee leaves of absence.
- Maintain our human resource information system.
- Respond to UI requests and employment verifications.
- Lead by example to help create a positive and inclusive culture.
Offboard Employees - Process all the necessary activities when an employee terminates employment.
- Conduct exit interviews and gather feedback with employees to help understand the reason for leaving.
- Partner with managers on employee retention initiatives.
Other Items - Manage and maintain company HR files, folders, and records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Contribute to HR projects, reporting, and process improvements as needed.
- Coordinate company events such as luncheons, anniversary recognition, etc.
- Onsite presence as required based on business needs. May travel to other sites periodically.
Provide back up to Recruiter: - Schedule and coordinate interviews.
- Post open job requisitions via our ATS and across other platforms as needed (LinkedIn, job boards, school sites).
- Conduct first-round phone/video screening calls with candidates.
- Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
- Track recruitment progress and provide regular updates to hiring managers.
QUALIFICATIONS - High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years relevant experience required.
- Associates degree, bachelors degree or 6 months of experience in recruitment, HR, or a related coordination/administrative role.
- Self-driven individual.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident in speaking with others via phone/video, in person or text.
- Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and file management skills.
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- A team player with a positive, people-first attitude who enjoys building relationships.
- Tech-savvy and confident using human resource systems, social media, and Microsoft programs.
- Able to work independently and take initiative while remaining highly collaborative.
- Strong ability to maintain confidential information.
POSITION INFORMATION - This position pays $20 - $25 per hour depending on experience
- Position will be physically located onsite at our facility in Milwaukee
