Position Overview

The Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is looking for an Environmental Leader. The Environmental Leader at Novelis is responsible for developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and integrating environmental considerations into business decisions. This position will report to the EHS Manager of the Bay Minette facility.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive environmental policies and procedures across the site.
• Monitor environmental performance and report on progress.
• Complete and submit all deliverables to be submitted to governmental agencies.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, local, state, and federal environmental regulations while maintaining complete environmental calendar.
• Lead, mentor, and manage Environmental team, assign tasks, and monitor progress.
• Lead air quality and other environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for all ongoing compliance obligations after commissioning.
• Support and participate in project deliverables for environmental compliance that are necessary for plant commissioning.
• Manage environmental incidents and all associated reporting.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into business decisions.
• Develop and oversee waste management and recycling programs.
• Lead initiatives to reduce waste and improve resource efficiency.
• Develop, oversee, and implement a comprehensive environmental training program for all levels of the organization where regulator training is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, or similar field.
• 5-7 years’ experience working in Environmental role in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Must have high attention to detail, be self-motivated, organized, and accountable.
• Working knowledge on AL state environmental regulations and federal environmental regulations in air, water, and waste.
• Experience in Stack Testing and Title V Permitting
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and Environmental Management Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in TRI Reporting, Wastewater permitting (NPDES), SARA Tier II reporting, and Industrial Stormwater Management, SPCC Plans

Location:

Novelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
