Entry Level Tax Preparer | Dekalb, IL | $19.00-$21.00/ hour | Monday through Sat 4pm-8pm

Position Summary
The Entry-Level Tax Preparer assists clients with preparing and filing basic federal and state income tax returns. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers, and eager to learn tax preparation procedures. No prior certifications are required; training is provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accurate and timely individual tax returns under supervision
• Gather and review client documents such as W-2s, 1099s, and deduction records
• Enter financial information into tax preparation software
• Ensure compliance with current tax laws and company procedures
• Communicate with clients to clarify information and answer basic questions
• Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of all client data
• Support office operations during tax season, including scheduling and client check-in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic understanding of math and financial documents
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication and customer service abilities
• Willingness to learn tax laws and software systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
• Must be Windows Savvy

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience in customer service, finance, or office support
• Familiarity with computers and data entry
